Youth group and high school club help Calayan Rail information campaign
September 2006

Officers and members of the Calayan Youth Association (CYA) and the K-Bio Club (KBC) of St. Bartholomew’s Academy are helping the Calayan Rail Project team put up Calayan Rail posters around the community. The CYA, led by its president Eric Nuñez, has put up posters in the municipal office, barangay halls and barangay health stations while the K-Bio Club, led by Ria Torado, has done the same in schools and stores around the island.

The Calayan Youth Association is an organization based on Calayan Island that was recently established to develop productive, self-reliant, responsible and disciplined young citizens of Calayan who have a sense of social responsibility. The K-Bio Club on the other hand is the official science club of St. Bartholomew’s Academy, the only private high school on the island.
