Philippine Crocodile pinpointed! June 2007 A team of crocodile researchers have successfully located a Philippine Crocodile at the Crocodile Sanctuary in Disulap River, San Mariano, Isabela last 20 June 2007. The crocodile was one of the first crocodiles that were released in the sanctuary carrying radio transmitters to help researchers from the Mabuwaya Foundation study its ecology and its movements. Mike Morales, new ISLA project coordinator, joined veteran CROC team member Bernard Tarun radio-track the crocodile. Mike was on a cross visit to San Mariano, Isabela to get training on crocodile survey work. He visited the Mabuwaya Foundation office in Cabagan, Isabela before heading out to the Crocodile Sanctuary in Disulap River. Earlier studies by Mabuwaya Foundation have revealed that the Philippine Crocodile can move as far away as 2km from its release site and come back.
